My work for Valve’s DOTA 2

DotA2 TI9 Opening Ceremony

The Main Reason for Going to China.

For the past couple months, I’ve been working with Tim Larkin and the wonderful folks at Valve on this project; the big opening ceremony for The International 9 in Shanghai, one of the largest game competitions globally.

I got to write this original orchestral arrangement for this event, using the beautiful themes of DotA2 in a fresh new way; my mission was to write it in a more Chinese style, and we were lucky to get traditional Erhu, Guzheng, Dizi players, and even a Tanggu drum group!

For this special occasion, I felt I just had to go and witness the full performance by the Shanghai Philharmonic in person, and was lucky to be accompanied by Katja and make a China-trip out of it

Super proud of this one, it was an enormous blast and I would love to thank everybody at Valve, but especially Tim Larkin, Paul Taylor and Pontus for an amazing time on this project.

Awesome summer was awesome.

Enjoy❤️
